  • WC: Part II

    Once again..today was simply amazing.

    All of our hard work from the fundraiser at the beginning of this month paid off. Those long hours making chocolate banana crepes and selling baked good at SS earned us a whopping $322. Quite a hefty amount considering that most of our baked goods were sold for less than a dollar! I'm always surprised at what we can accomplish when we work together. It absolutely amazes me.

    Today was our second choral concert of the season-the last one before the New Year! I'm slowly growing more convinced that I will look back on my fourth year of university as a year marked with ambition, risk-taking, and new discoveries.

    ---------------------------------------------

     Four things on earth are small,
           yet they are extremely wise:

    Ants are creatures of little strength,
           yet they store up their food in the summer;

    coneys are creatures of little power,
           yet they make their home in the crags;

    locusts have no king,
           yet they advance together in ranks;

    a lizard can be caught with the hand,
           yet it is found in kings' palaces.

    Proverbs: 30:24-38

    Community is everything..

  • Thought of the Day:

    Community is everything.

    I'm really grateful for the buddies I have at school this year. It seems like they've always got my back, and anytime I have a question or concern, I know I can go to them and ask for their honest input. Last year, I realized that community is an investment. It's not granted to you unless you put consistent time, effort and energy into these relationships. That's the beauty of it. No matter what the cost..it's worth it. <3

  • 21st birthday + Thanksgiving weekend

    For the second time in a row, I had an incredible weekend.

    First of all, last weekend was SO fun. The girls and I went out for karaoke and we sang our hearts out in Markham at Ten23. Afterwards, the ladies took me out for hot pot... mmmm. so amazing.

    My 21st birthday was full of delightful surprises. My twin went all out for me which I appreciated immensely. From decorating my locker with wrapping paper, to getting everyone in the choir to serenade me with 'happy birthday', she didn't fall short of making my birthday the BEST ever! I had the one of the best days of my life on Wednesday.

    For Thanksgiving weekend, on Saturday,  I had CC and SC come over for a time of good food and fun! =) We surely did make the best crepes in Mississauga! I couldn't decide whether I liked the cream cheese smoked salmon crepe or the chocolate banana crepe more...mmm. Savoury. In the evening, CC took me out for a round of drinks with our all too familiar guy friends. E, P and I had a birthday shot before I left that evening. It was a mix  of Kahlua, Baileys, and Grand Marnier. The after-taste was a chocolately orange flavour. Amazing. It was much better than the shot of pure vodka I had to bring on my 19th birthday.

    Today, my grandparents had me and my brother over for dinner. It was a pleasant way to end Thanksgiving...before I was hit full force with those darn books and of course, the Monday Tuesday morning blues.

    I can't wait for next weekend.

    P.S. Thanks Chevon for the thoughtful birthday present. As always, you are a great friend! Thanks for lending an ear, and being there through all the ups and downs. I love you! xoxo infiniti.

  • Fast food ideas.

    For those who know me well, my favourite pastime involves the creation and discussion of new ideas. I love ideas, big or small, original or recycled. They offer us so much potential to change the world we live in, and if not, at least it offers us some perspective to view our circumstances in a different light.

    Since I got this awesome new job working at day camp as the 'churchwife', I've been cleaning and cooking for large numbers of people. What a siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick job.

    And the bonus?

    Spitting out orders for my handful of volunteers to respond to as fast as I can keep up with them!

    I always knew that being a scatter-brain would come in handy. Imagine- I have one brain to think of tasks, one mouth to issue orders and 6 workers who correspond with my thoughts all at once.

    AMAZING. This is a dream come true.
